Volunteer FAQ’s
Do you really need my help?
YES! Our convention is run entirely by volunteers, from the children’s program workers to the board of directors. In order to serve the homeschool community and keep costs low, 100% of the proceeds from the convention go right back into inspiring, promoting, and protecting home education in Idaho.
What is the length of time I will serve?
You can volunteer any amount of time you wish, whether it’s one hour or the length of the entire convention. We are grateful for any time you are willing to contribute.
Can I volunteer with my children?
We love families serving together. The best jobs for children working alongside their parents are at Set-Up/Tear-Down.
Otherwise, most volunteer jobs are best filled by adults.
Can my teen help in the Children's Program?
Do I have to miss workshops if I volunteer?
For registered attendees of the 2021 Homeschool Idaho Convention, video recordings of the convention will be made available for on-demand viewing, making it easy to catch any workshops that you might miss attending live.
Will I receive any kind of training?
The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you prior to the Homeschool Idaho Convention via email or phone with details about your area of service. An explanation of expectations for your particular volunteer spot will also be given when you check in at the Volunteer Table at the convention.
What are the benefits of volunteering?
