Did you know that it takes over 100 volunteers to make the Homeschool Idaho Convention possible?
We would be honored to have your help!
- Hospitality Prep
- Welcome Bag Prep
- Set-Up and Tear-Down
The first 50 people who apply to volunteer will have their names placed in a drawing for admission to Aquarium of Boise.
Do you really need my help?
YES! Our convention is run entirely by volunteers, from the children’s program workers to the board of directors. In order to serve the homeschool community and keep costs low, 100% of the proceeds from the convention go right back into inspiring, promoting, and protecting home education in Idaho.
What is the length of time I will serve?
You can volunteer any amount of time you wish, whether it’s one hour or the length of the entire convention. We are grateful for any time you are willing to contribute.
Can I volunteer with my children?
We love families serving together. The best jobs for children working alongside their parents are Welcome Bag Prep and Set-Up/Tear-Down.
Otherwise, most volunteer jobs are best filled by adults.
Can my teen help in the Children's Program?
We’re glad you asked! Volunteering as a Team Leader in the Children’s Program is so much fun. Most of our volunteers return year after year.
We have an entire page devoted to volunteering in the Children’s Program. Click here!
Do I have to miss workshops if I volunteer?
Not all volunteer jobs coincide with workshops. There are opportunities to serve pre- and post-convention.
Homeschool Idaho does provide volunteers with vouchers for convention recordings to help compensate for the sacrifice of possibly missing any of the 46 workshops at the convention.
Will I receive any kind of training?
The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you prior to the Homeschool Idaho Convention via email or phone with details about your area of service. An explanation of expectations for your particular volunteer spot will also be given when you check in at the Volunteer Table at the convention.
Do I get anything for volunteering?
First and foremost, you get the satisfaction of knowing that you are impacting the lives of thousands of Idahoans in a positive way.
Homeschool Idaho does provide volunteers with vouchers for convention recordings to help compensate for the sacrifice of potentially missing any of the 46 workshops at the convention.
Additionally, the first 50 people who apply to volunteer will have their names placed in a drawing for day passes to Aquarium of Boise.
There are a limited number of volunteer scholarships available for those interested in serving for longer amounts of time. If you desire to apply for one of these scholarships to help reduce your registration fee, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
